Named after a world famous surfing dog from San Diego that started the dog surfing circuit, Surf Dog Ricochet offers large groups of people the opportunity to spend time with dogs to better themselves.
"Ricochet the dog is a registered and certified therapy dog who was the first-ever dog to surf with kids with special needs, people with disabilities, wounded warriors and veterans with PTSD as a form of surf therapy, assistance, healing and empowerment."
She has surfed with hundreds of people from severely disabled to able-bodied. Able to adjust her surfing style based on the person's disability, Ricochet allows the surfers to hold onto her back end while she balances the board.
Such a creative take on animal therapy and the work that Surf Dog Ricochet has been doing is truly inspirational.
