I have not really written a post that is fully original. I have relied on other sources for information and their expertise in subjects, which I don't think is a problem in itself; however, for today's post I want to take a different approach and free write.
As a seventeen year old high school senior, my perspective is extremely different from many people. I live in Michigan which also differentiate myself from many. My identity is made of many things. I don't claim to be an expert in anthropology; rather, I'm an amateur. I've taken a college course in anthropology and self-studied many aspects of the field, specifically linguistic anthropology. I like to learn and listen, but providing my own perspective can be intimidating.
This post isn't necessarily about animals or anthropology, but it is me. I felt that it was important to signify that I will continue to listen to others and cite their research, but I will also take my own approach and put aside my fear of being wrong. Some posts may be considered a "rant" or just me rambling about some topic, but I think promoting the generation of ideas and really thinking about my own opinions will help me to grow into a better scholar and anthropologist.
Forever learning,
E
